Q. How will we receive our photographs?

Answer: Your photographs will be posted about 10 days after the wedding.

Q. How much is postage?

Answer: Postage is included in all packages. An additional fee will be charged for packages to be sent abroad

Q. Are there any extra charges?

Answer: Only if you are married at the Registration Office. An additional Charge (£15) will be made to use the Blacksmiths and an optional £20 should you wish photographs inside the Registration Office

Q. How long must we reside in Scotland?

Answer: You are not required to reside in Scotland.

Q. Can foreign nationals marry in Scotland?

Answer: Yes anyone can legally marry in Scotland (Telephone 01461-337648 for advice regarding additional

documentation).

Q. How much notice must be given to secure a Ceremony?

Answer: We recommend 4 weeks but  it is possible to complete the legalities in 16 days. (Call 01461-337648 for advice)

Q. What is the cost of a Minister?

Answer: Around £100

Q. How much is the licence fee?

Answer: £58.50 per couple.

Q. Can we marry on a Sunday. 

Answer: Yes you can marry on any day of the week.

Q. Do we need witnesses?

Answer: Yes, you need 2, but we can provide them.

Q. My partner is divorced, will a minister still marry us?

Answer: Yes.

Please note: The Marriage schedule must be collected in person by either the future Bride or Groom, this can be done on any day within 7 days prior to the Wedding.  The Registration Office is closed on Sundays, Mondays and some bank holiday weekends, therefore couples marrying on a Sunday or Monday would have to collect the schedule no later than the Saturday prior. Couples marrying on a bank holiday weekend should call the

Registration Office for advice.
